We went in hoping for an action packed TV show with loads of fun intrigue and fight sequences. We were disappointed. It was an avant garde take on a spy thriller. In between hours of just talking and talking and talking, the protagonists did some action and shot up a house. That’s it. It felt like Amazon Studios told them that they don’t have budget for stunt doubles, so they skimped on proper action.
@nitinkhanna Why only 2???? Ah! I just read the link. I’m actually loving the show. Prefer the format.
@pratik loving the show too. It’s like Richard linklater made this.
@pratik I went in expecting something completely different. The format of the show, the ending, and looooong drawwwwwwl that was the ending, all just left a bad taste. Hence the low rating.
@stupendousman the Before Sunrise guy? Yeah that’s what the show left like. Just a bunch of talking with literally nothing happening in every episode.
@nitinkhanna yep @pratik had made a reference to a few days ago too. It’s one of those – you either like that kind of setups (lots of talking and really based on chemistry) or you don’t. We love the before series of movies so this was just was same.
@stupendousman Yup. It’s like if Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy killed someone together at the end of their stroll down the Seine 😀 @nitinkhanna
@pratik 🤣
@stupendousman I feel like what they were showing in the TV show is that the protagonists had a distinct lack of chemistry.
@nitinkhanna I still need to check it out
Just wrapped up watching with my wife. We both enjoyed it.
Glad you liked it. I don’t know… Maybe we were just in a different mental space going into the show. Too many memories of the movie and expectations from the show, perhaps.
